Unexpected rain this morning! Mountain View got almost 0.2" if the weather service website is to be believed. I actually had an inkling; there were very dark grey clouds to the east when I took my walk yesterday. It looked more immediately threatening late this afternoon, so I brought in my laundry before taking today's walk, and got lightly sprinkled. So no more watering for a few days, except for what's on the porch.

The weather has been brutal the past week. Monday was the hottest day we've had since records start back in 16th century, then Tues was hotter still! Weds/Thurs we had brutal thunderstorms overnight, literally two months of rain in a single night! It's finally settled down to 'normal' now...at least for a bit. The forecast for next week is looking a bit apocalyptic.

And some think climate change is a hoax ... I understand the jet stream is folded? And I see they're dropping like flies at the French Open and kids are drowning by the dozen in rivers? (Austerity seems to have included swimming lessons and/or lidos :-( ) Stay safe.
