I'm trying even more to take the dog on proper walkies, as opposed to aimless wanderings with much sniffing on which we repeatedly have to make way for pedestrians or cyclists, or mad dashes through shrubbery. (In addition to her wish to root out anything edible in the environment, although she seems to have learned what the last bit of street before home looks like, she otherwise has a bad sense of direction.) She needs to burn calories. So last night and tonight we went around the block in different directions. She's much less scared now, though particularly loud sounds such as trains still spook her, and other dogs tend to be either to be jumped on or to be snarled at.
