The housemate was out for the evening, so I took the dog on a quick solo walk. We stopped both ways at a line of cedar trees planted close together at the fence between two front yards. There was an uninterrupted sound of gnawing coming from somewhere within. I dissuaded the dog from investigating more closely. Opossum?
