The white poodle at the house with the chainlink fence is disconsolate without her little playmate, and keeps barking at the housemate's dog trying to get a reaction. But he's too deaf and almost too blind to notice. It's been warm enough for them to have their front door open, so as we pass on walkies the poor dog comes running up to the screen door, barking her head off, and ours just toddles slowly on by.
