I managed to catch the homeward bus shortly before 7 am, and got off at the stop before my usual. It had been still half-dark, but there were then peach and pink ribbons of dawn in the sky. A flock of parrots shrieked their way overhead; I later found them chattering in the palms behind Denny's.
