As the rain tapered off, the neighbors had gardeners in massacring the buddleia in their back yard. What on earth for, I don't know ... Sadly I don't think I can make cuttings work.
You can take cuttings from a buddleia, the trick is to find a freshly cut stem cut an inch below a pair of buds, make a diagonal cut to increase the surface area, then dip in rooting hormone, followed by set honey [the honey acts as a sugar source and preservative] and pot it out like that. Clear cutting gel is best, but sterile potting compost will work, as will baked soil [120 degrees C for 30 minutes] with some degree of success.
