On Friday when I was waiting to cross the road to work after getting my coffee, I noted how clearly I could see the foothills, despite the heat. Yesterday it was hotter still, and the entire eastern sky was haze; you would never have imagined there were hills there. I suppose it was a Spare the Air day; I don't know how we are supposed to know about those these days.

This link should provide it. I get an email, daily, giving the conditions and forecast for Sacramento. I assume they'll have one for your locale as well.

I don't know what it's like, there. It's been "Unhealthy for sensitive groups" here, for a few days now. And I also believe, looking at the 'Wundermap' on Wunderground.com, that you're getting some of the smoke from the plethora of wildfires burning, as well. (I'd hate to be in Santa Rosa or thereabouts, today. They're getting hammered by it.)

Oddly, Saturday was not a Spare the Air day -- Sunday was. Saturday's sunset was the one benefit of the murky air; didn't seem to have such an enlivening effect on last night's.
