I discovered yesterday that I have managed to wear down the heels of the heavy clompers I've been wearing to the point where I'm not sure the cobbler on the corner will be able to fix them. The left heel looks as if I took a knife to it. Another demonstration that they don't make them the way they used to, I suppose - the uppers are still fine.
