Went to San Jose. Lots of pretty flowering trees. Mimosa, the pale purple ones whose name I forget, and one I haven't noticed before, with clusters of frilly cream and pink bells, kind of like rhododendrons. I think they're the ones that produce egg-shaped brown fruits.
