D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

The grass has grown back enthusiastically. Some neighbors spent Saturday weed-whacking up and down the block, especially what had become a grass patch in front of their house but is actually large, round pebbles such as people in seaside resorts in England insert as decoration in their garden walls. An electrical plug appears to have emerged from the undergrowth among the stones. It then rained a little. This is good but the grass will be sodden again. We should get a goat, but it and the housemate's dog would fight.

The retiring janitor came to work 2 hours early on his last day, so I got to say goodbye. He says he'll be staying here and not returning to the Philippines, so I may well run into him from time to time.
