The rain came back, which is nice but complicates chores like feeding the compost monster. Next to which the ginger cat has been pooping in the soft earth.

Our plum tree has a whole area in blossom. Last year I noticed a single blossom. The tree is apparently a gigantic sucker, and never used to blossom. Maybe one of these years it will manage fruit!

The supermarket has run out of goat cheese and spinach pizza again. I do not think I am being unreasonable when I expect to be able to buy goat cheese and spinach pizza in California. The last time they pulled this trick I eventually learned by e-mail that they import it by sea from Italy and they have to wait until they have a big enough order to fill a container. Bring back the clipper ships, I say.
