Two houses recently came up for sale close to each other near one end of the park. Both were once tract houses of a similar vintage and size.

This is a gut renovation of a 1962 house on a quiet corner (it's in an actual gap on Street View; I think it was this one) with the addition of an attached 2-car garage and an "imposing" entrance and recladding of the exterior. Plus artificial turf in back (shown with a lawn chess set looking lonely in the expanse). 4 bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms. The bones of the house may not have been changed much; the ceilings come out looking very low. The colour-changing LED strip in the remodelled fireplace is swanky though. Offered at $3,180,000, pending 9 days after listing.

This is a revamp of a 1956 house facing a rather busy neighbourhood street that used to look like this (hazily, through blanking of the adjacent house). 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. No construction; these houses already had attached 2-car garages. But the central HVAC may be new along with the fancy bathrooms and recessed lighting. Offered at the magical number of $1,999,888, pending 8 days after listing and already marked sold at streetside.
