I walked the dog solo this noontime. Even fewer children in the park today; one lady with her toddler seemed surprised to find the playground structures roped off with yellow police tape, and it saddens me, too. But a few adults were still doing exercise routines on the edge of the playing fields. A very light shower was starting as we walked; late in the afternoon there was a heavy shower, so I again didn't need to water the tiny succulents arranged in a cardboard box outside the back door. After it cleared up I noticed a third-generation nasturtium has flowered under the plum tree; yellow, like last year's.
