The houses facing the park on the north are one of the earliest post-war tracts; more and more are getting altered or simply replaced, but they are three-bedroomers with ample yards (into which some have been extended back) and square picture windows looking out onto the porch. The developer made the unfortunate choice of planting a saucer magnolia in each front yard, which means the huge leathery leaves make lawns impossible. A house with the original floorplan and single bathroom plus a sun-room, but with tacky "Federal" updating, has just gone on the market ... for $1.7 mill.
