We went to the San Jose library again. The roads were unusually empty, as they have been on my commute, but the library was open. There weren't many people there either. There are now homeless encampments with actual tents both where we come off the highway and around the sculptures in the stub of street behind City Hall where we park; I suspect someone's been sensibly supplying tents, since San Jose's plan to build micro-housing is snarled in red tape and local protests.
