This morning the sky was dramatic and gulls were gathering on the pitched roof of one taller apartment building. I timed walkies for a sunny spell but it was windy and the dog was spooked. Ms Bella didn't show up to eat her breakfast, but she was there last night, even more ravenous than usual; I've caught naughty Mr. Orange eating her food a couple of times, so I'm glad she's still around. I hope the much less greenery-shrouded porch isn't scaring her off. However, things are doing their best to come back. Most of the rosebush at the corner of the porch has new leaves and indeed I need to deadhead many flowers. The amaryllis clumps are all pushing out new leaves. If that's it, I hope she can hang on using the catoneaster as a base of operations. There's a plastic ball from next-door's boys under there that I haven't yet figured out how to get at without injuring myself.
