It's now not fully light when I leave work, and this morning the bus ran fast and the light was still golden and peeping through the trees when I supervised the dogs in the yard. The neighbor has had his Hallowe'en inflatables in his yard for a couple of weeks; I sometimes pat the swiveling head of the huge black cat as I pass by.
