Some unseasonably warm days made the local birds feisty. Gulls and crows have been yelling at each other and chasing each other over the store parking lot in the early morning. Yesterday as I was waiting for the bus on a quiet Sunday morning, one crow drove another crow across the street. Later two mockingbirds had a dustup in the rosebush in front of my bedroom window.
I mowed the front lawn, doing my best to decapitate the clover so as to share its nitrogeny goodness with the compost pile. It was time; there were burrs in there. Also the housemate told me the neighborhood pressure group were leafletting in the afternoon while I slept. On an unrelated matter (bike lanes vs. parking), but still I am glad we were a bit more spring-cleaned.

New growth on ivy; my personal sign that it is spring. And someone had left a noodle soup cup in a cedar hedge; after waiting a week or two for the homeowners to get it, I removed it today, and turned out the slime monster into the gutter.
