D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

I went to San Jose. While I was nursing my foot at home, the little abandoned yellow and grey Old West-style house got renovated and expanded in back into a duplex, and is now greenish-grey and with almost all of the backyard concreted over. It was kind of startling to see. I wish they'd kept the old front door with the beveled crystal window in it, but I suppose they sold that to Restoration Hardware. And of course the little tree beside the front gate is gone, too. But the maple on the sidewalk still stands sentinel.

There are wasps in the backyard. And they are taking an unhealthy interest in my underwear on the line.
