A second beautiful day. The housemate took the car out for most of the afternoon, so I swept the bottom of the driveway and finished up with some pruning. Construction noises from over the fence. Meanwhile, the dog made like a rug on the grass.

We're in our second day of BikeFest, over in Leesburg. All three cats loathe BikeFest and all the noisy, growling, prowling, machines which are angry and might eat them.

At least with it being so warm, the windows are closed and the A/C on. Usually it's off, this time of year and the windows open. Less noise = less Catten drama.

Well, supposedly, at least. Just after Noon, Evie fell off the cat tree, while trying to back up and turn 'round to make an alternate jump from the one she'd been planning. Caught with her claws, and swung down, but couldn't hang on. I grabbed her, but my hands were extremely dry, and her fur slipped through. She wound-up crashing headfirst into my as-yet-unopened box of new boots that arrived yesterday. But my semi-grip on her fur slowed it down into a controlled crash, and nokitty was injured. So they've all had a Treat ration! Temptations! The good stuff! Chimken, Catnip, and Cheese flavors! (There was much nomming, and there is much purring.)

Meanwhile, we got a small amount of rain yesterday (not much, but it rained all over BikeFest, which made us all happy,) and may get a thunderstorm today. (Again, a small chance, but we're all hoping.) We desperately need the rain, as we're in a severe drought, and neither the cats nor myself are too morally pure to hope that BikeFest stays dry.
