We went to Safeway a day early because the housemate was playing some perverted game all day Sunday. There were already pumpkins for sale, black cats hanging on strings above the bakery counter, and tiny pumpkins lined up on the edge of the vitamin display in front of the pharmacists' station. Way too early, folks.
