The dog woke me at 7:00 and I let her out. She started barking behind the garage and when I went out to quiet her, I found a small, fluffy calico cat looking down at her from the fork in the neighbor's tree that leans over the fence behind our compost heap. Kitty then jumped down into or near one of their chicken coops, and agitated cackling commenced. The dog barked a few more times into the bargain.
It's a beautiful day but the housemate told me to expect mosquito spraying against West Nile virus today. However, I see from maps on local news sites that the area is on the border with Santa Clara and doesn't include us. (The city website doesn't have any information.) So I presume I can dry my laundry on the line and go to OSH to buy jeans after all.
