A few years ago, the city allowed Best Buy to construct a large store on El Camino, and the people in the houses behind it were aghast when they realized it had not only a tall illuminated sign on the street side but also big blue and yellow signs at the roofline that shone down into their back yards all night. The city council hadn't realized this would be a problem. Now Best Buy is gone and the store is to be either torn down or adapted. I hope whatever replaces it is a better neighbor.
