Running an errand, I saw that a big old squared-off Victorian on Sunnyvale Avenue is still marked with a CONDEMNED sign and fenced off with chainlink. It used to have at least six mailboxes. I wonder how bad it really is ... meanwhile they keep building tall cliffs of condos in toybox Italianate and Spanish colonial styles. Downtown is slowly being surrounded, while at its core all those equally tall unfinished apartment blocks still sit in legal and financial limbo.

I'm always surprised by how far reconstruction efforts will go with a 'no hoper' building, given great wads of cash invested.
