I took the dog for a short walk. An Asian man was in a big hurry to get to a particular house, so I gave him space to get past us; in any case an elderly black labrador lives there, so I give the house a bit of a wide berth because when she sees the housemate's dog, she gets herself in trouble with her people barking a challenge. However, he was just dropping off a box on the porch. It turned out to be one of those cardboard carriers that animal shelters use for cats and bunnies, only it said LIVE BIRDS on the side. Maybe they're getting into chicken-keeping, too.
