This morning's bus was one of the small natural gas ones and was absolutely packed. A dozen of us standing in the aisles, and most of the sleeping homeless occupying only one seat. People swathed in woollen scarves. It was cold, but not as frosty as yesterday morning. When they took away one of the main homeless shelters in the valley for this year, the transit people really should have planned to provide stretched buses at night and early morning. If there had been more than two cyclists, as there usually are, that bus would have been dangerously overpacked. As it was the driver was trying really hard to brake gently.
