The rain lightened and finally stopped some time after midnight. It was still heavy - but not deluge heavy - when I went for my bus; the poor housemate drove me slowly to the bus stop. Vegetation strewn over the roads, and still some deep puddles. Daylight will reveal whether the neighborhood lost any trees; they were forecasting mass deracination as the ground "liquified" and the wind reached hurricane force ... we'll see.

Ok, that just seems outrageously over predicting disaster.

We didn't get hit nearly so badly as you folks did. We had a bit of flooding and a lot of rain, but...yeah.
