D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

Returned to my doctor alone and got a diagnosis: I have shingles!!!! A mild case, on my left side just above waist level. So I now get to take a powerful antiviral drug known for causing drowsiness.

Since I was on foot, I documented the blatant waste of water at the Sunnyvale Community Center across the street:



I hope that's dyed toilet-tank blue to indicate it's recycled wastewater. I don't know whether you can see, but in addition to the sky-high jet to the right of center, there are a group of small ones further to the right, and another small one way on the left.

Also, on the way home, some sort of drive-in building had been demolished and replaced with a heap of sandy earth. As I took a shortcut through the lot, I noticed a whole flock of these sandpipers (?) on top of the heap. Good for them.

Water Fountains

As I recall, those water fountains are pond water being pumped round and round, possibly to put more oxygen into the water for the fish. The dye is to keep people from noticing that most of the pond is only a few inches deep. With clear water you would see the bottom. The dye hides it.

If it's a waste of anything, it's probably more of a waste of energy than of water, even if it does increase evaporation some.

Is it catching???? I thought it was pretty much internal, the chicken pox virus saying "I'm still heeeeere". If it's contagious, the Wikipedia page really needs updating.

Ah ok. As I say, I seem to have a mild case. Either that or after decades of arthritis, this pain doesn't rate '-) But the drug is making me scatty.
