Bear can only manage the shortest walk now, so we toddle slowly around the circular lawn where I sometimes blót on the way home. It's a pretty place, with shady trees planted around it; he snuffles in the dead leaves and mulch and pees on the shrubs. His eyesight is too bad to notice all the squirrels wreathing themselves around the treetrunks and darting from tree to tree.

I'm trying to. I feel bad leaving him when I go to work. But he has good days when he still bounces around. And he has now outlasted the oncologist's outside estimate of 2 months by a further 2 months. The housemate just got in another order of the Chinese herb pills.

They'll Leave on their own schedule. When I was a kid we had a number of dogs. One ws Cha-Cha, a Chihuahua. She was 15, blind, no teeth and Incontinent. There was no Vet so our MD gave Mom 15 mg of Morphine. She basically went into a Coma for 3 days and on the 3rd....SHE Rose;>!
She lived another 2, Interestingly in a lot less visible Pain.....
