So Orchard Hardware is throwing in the towel. Our store will become a Lowe's, which means I'll have to get garden stuff at the nursery store instead, and I'll no longer be able to buy cheap, tough jeans and carpenter's pants (I learned they had those from elainegrey a couple of years ago). It was also one of the few nice remnants of the agricultural past here. I'll miss it, and I should trek through the heat later this afternoon and pick up a hose end and anything else they still have in the sale.

That is really disappointing. :( Although Lowe's has garden stuff, I think? Or is it more that you don't want to shop there?

The death of a hardware store is so painful. I wonder: where do all their useful things go after they lock the door the last time? Certainly not to Lowe's.
