Well, the 13th was the 13th. The housemate's dog rushed into my room and upset my dog's water-bowl and I came home to find my stacks of library books disassembled all over the room and the bed, drying out, poor Bear cowering in the remaining corner of the bed, and when I navigated the obstacle course to my computer, not only were friends present in rare numbers on chat, and tasks awaiting me on Wikipedia that needed a fair amount of care and concentration (and coordination with others, rare for my kind of nerdiness), and the comp had been rebooted overnight so that I had to get everything reloaded in the first place, but my internet connection was intermittently going out for half an hour at a time. Bleah.
... Some of the edits got done, some got done less than optimally by others, I swore uninterestingly on Skype, I think the books will all recover since both of us dried them off assiduously, and I reassembled them in their separate project piles and gave Bear back his domain, and hopefully the connection problem will not recur after I got an assist from my computer guy yesterday.
