Yesterday I was waiting for the bus in the dank dawn - in fact I had my pen poised to make a note on my current reading book - when a small light-brown dog and a large dark-brown dog with a tumor on its hindquarters, both sans collar, ran past me on the grass. They then decided to scamper across El Camino just outside the crosswalk, as the light was changing, and out of nowhere a battered white truck made a u-turn with a guy yelling out the window. Much confusion ensued. He succeeded in getting the little one after it had initially attempted to run toward me instead, threw it through the window into the driver's seat, managed to get in himself and headed off down the highway after the larger one, who appeared to be heading past two Korean barbecue places to the American barbecue place with the smoker out front. I saw the truck turn in there in hot pursuit; hopefully he corralled his second dog, too.
