I am terribly ignorant about the birds hereabouts - most of the species are unfamiliar to me. But yes it's possible - the bird book I just got out of the library says cedar waxwings are 7.5 cm, which seems a tad big but is still really small.
I wish you could see puca's entries with photos of baby cedar waxwings. When he isn't being an utter curmudgeon he posts lovely stuff about living in the Canadian Rockies.
