The oleander has formed its long, pointed, maroon seedheads on most of its branches and needs a first pruning. It's a brash fuchsia color. I note that the oleanders planted in a line outside the library (which was originally city hall) are a pale pink that precisely matches the lines of ornamental cherry trees further out in the parking lot, which precede them in flowering. Someone liked pale pink, even though it's far from the colors of the city coat of arms, which are of course sunny yellow - on blue, in a kind of icecream cone shape.
