When I let Bear out in the morning after his breakfast, there was a bit of drama. He ran over to the point where the back fence and the side chainlink meet a neighbor's fence a bit messily; there is some leaning of posts and a bit of a gap. The fluffy beigy tortoiseshell cat that I had come upon lying nonchalantly in a hollow in our grass was there behind the shed in the diagonal yard, and Bear proceeded to stuff his head and part of his shoulders through the gap to get at the cat, while the cat displayed her claws and basically said, "Bring it." Luckily Bear is a good boy and I was able to haul him back by the collar. Twice. The cat had moved forward in the interim. Then she either sauntered off or was removed by her own people, because the third time Bear circled back there, she wasn't there.
