Watering the potatoes, tomatoes, and petunias in the side yard, I flushed out a long black beetle. Another seemed to be attempting to expire on the carpet in the screen room. So I got the flyer for the Stevens Creek Benefit Run out of the recycling and scooped him up and deposited him on the garden path. Along with the dessicated earthworm some bird had dropped from the rafters onto one of the old desks we keep in there.
