In the neighborhood in San Jose where I go every two weeks, there's an ashram in one of the Victorian cottages on a side street. This afternoon a saddhu was sitting outside the 7-11 around the corner. I considered giving him alms in the form of a Slushie but nahhh.

A Saddhu outside an Ashram is a holy man, outside of a 7-11 is a panhandler. Maybe if he Busked I'd give him money. 'Course, if he'd been outside a Ashram I'd go inside and give THEM the money.
Can you tell I've lived in cities with aggressive street peoples;>?
