Two days of one ear ringing so loudly I couldn't really hear what anyone said unless they faced me and projected. A weird experience. Under certain acoustic conditions, such as the bus, it was like being in a plane - distant voices that were probably right behind me, and relatively loud, fragmented music some of which was probably not really there but manufactured from the engine echoing in my ear. Then at home there was this appalling thrum that turned out to be a flatbed wrecker idling in front of the rental establishment next door. I was too miserable even to look to see whether it was a break-down or a repossession, and in either case whether the vehicle was really that large. Oh and when I got up I found the house internet no longer accommodating my computer so I couldn't play something familiar on YouTube to recalibrate my ear-holes.
