I ran into Woody the collar-shucking ginger cat today on my way home from the bus. Collarless, of course. He miaowed at me and allowed a brief petting. I also saw my other cat friend, the hairy grey cat, a couple of days ago. Unfortunately she/he was in a bad way - tatty coat and very thin. I petted the poor thing, but I fear she/he has got old and won't last much longer. At least two households were feeding this cat but she/he proudly refused to become a pet and is a spring-loaded scratching and biting machine.
