
According to my sister's guidebook, this house was built from salvaged timbers from a shipwreck. Its sign says it's the oldest house on the hill.

This is a B & B. I'm not sure what the white horse is about.

This is a nice one painted in an attractive color scheme, and has nice outbuildings painted to match, but they're currently retouching the woodwork. Here are a view of the other street side and a closeup of the entrance:


But this is the one I'd pick. Bristling with corners and windows in all different shapes, loads of stained glass in a variety of styles including art nouveau, and the wisteria has formed great ropes embracing the magnolia tree in the front yard.



... and the old Santa Cruz cinema is still there downtown, though it's been chopped into about a dozen screens.
