When I got up, I discovered a large brown moth - the kind that usually take refuge on the kitchen windowsill or beat around ceiling lights - had decided to perch on the kitchen floor, where it did not at all blend with the vinyl tiling. It quivered but declined to be moved. I hope it had the sense to quiver its way either beside the fridge or out into the screen room.

Declined? Just slide a piece of paper under the blighter and carry to the wide-openness of outside. Really now. Leaving it to flutter aboot under the fridge will doom it to spend eternity with the other detritus beneath there like those errant peas, speedy Cherrios and Vitki's kibbles 'n bits.

Hadn't thought of paper :-( Stupid thing. They usually choose higher surfaces to expire on.
