This morning, a rushing stream flowing down a gutter, so I followed it around the corner - through the storm drain on the opposite corner, I could hear it gurgling under the street - to find a notice stapled to a poor eucalyptus tree about a broken water main and yes, water gushing out from under the asphalt. Hopefully it will get fixed before the entire surface of the street cracks and unleashes a geysir that carries away vehicles, small children, and gateposts.
