D.O.P.-T.

I get vegan microwaveable dinners delivered in a box every week (from Los Angeles, I think; ice-packs and insulation are involved). They used to be my work dinners; now they keep me from either subsisting on generic Cheerios, cheese on toast, and yoghurt, or conflicting with the housemate's dinner cooking. At work, I used to get one of the corners of the plastic open before cooking as a vent, which was often quite laborious. At home, since the instructions actually just say to heat it before opening the plastic, I tried skipping that step and found the plastic inflates and then one of the seams pops, which also makes it easier to get it off neatly. But one of the current lot, "Harvest squash bowl with basil walnut pesto" (the meals tend to be complicated things like that, as if I need to be tempted to eat something meatless), suddenly exploded its plastic in the microwave, BLAM. The dog was quite alarmed. Today's meal was the same menu item—BLAM, again. The plastic split/melted. I hope they haven't changed the type of plastic they use so that I have to go back to picking a corner open.
