D.O.P.-T. (Tuesday)

Continued hot. The window a/c in the housemate's study gave up the ghost, so we are both using fans - and although they're Vornados, the house just gets that bit hotter during the day. Either that or all the computers are putting out more heat than last year.

D.O.P.-T. (day before yesterday)

I fear the mysterious spiky tree where the little garden center used to be may not survive much longer. The furniture store in the adjacent strip mall is going out of business (as is LaZBoy or however you spell it across El Camino, although I imagine that's unrelated) and there's a sign with some kind of building drawing on it - presumably it will be yet another massive block of Tuscan flats. Nice in their own way, and not inappropriate to the grand boulevard the cities all say they want it to become, but Santa Clara had a good collection of funky stuff from the old El Cam.

D.O.P.-T. (yesterday)

Last night when there was just one customer in a booth, there was a great clatter from the rear of the store. I thought he'd dropped a bottle, but it turned out to be the plastic cover off the bathroom ceiling light, which had plopped straight down into the toilet. The place is falling apart.
