On friends' advice that it's better for the plants, I am watering my potted plants in the morning now - on workdays, after I get home. This does have the advantage that I can see where the pots are. And I can combine it with the check for ripe tomatoes that need picking. The biggest problem is on the days when the cloud layer is already starting to burn off and that hot sun to come blazing out by the time I toddle back from the bus stop; it's one more thing to do before I get that sprinkler on.
