The foxtail grass is dying no matter what I do with water; it can't take heat. I'd uproot it all to keep the dog from snuffling up the seeds, but he snuffles and rolls in other kinds of grass too, and it has proved itself adept at growing back.
I'm noticing more tomatoes - ripe and not - in yards than last year, which in turn was more than the year before. One of the most expensive houses near us also has strawberries in the flowerbed in front of the porch. Good idea.
