This morning both Monty and Prudence were there when I took out kitty breakfast; Prudence was back to her fluff-for-brains self, almost walking into the house as I opened the screen door. And when I watered, I looked over the side gate first and there was Monty, lying behind it and looking back up at me. He walked away as I proceeded forward with the watering can, but didn't flinch or hiss; he just relocated in a spot that I didn't need to water, and watched me go by in both directions. He's really a very smart cat. He's probably told Prudence 100 times in Cat, "It's perfectly safe to be on that porch when the long-haired minion appears with food. But don't go inside. Just eat the food."
