The dog slept with the housemate again; she was having acid reflux and couldn't get comfy, so apparently she decamped to a chair in the living room. Luckily there's now a heating vent there. In my continuing effort to diagnose the dog's problem with my bed, I ransacked the airing cupboard and have put the softest blankie I could find—a multicoloured woolen throw with First Nations-derived designs—on my bed. The dog shows a marked preference for those soft modern blankets, and maybe she's decided sleeping on the denim top of my eiderdown isn't soft and warm enough, but we're both too attached to our blankies in the cold season to give up one to her.
