More brief showers in Los Altos; I'm not sure whether we got any, though it was sometimes cloudy. We went for a little walk around the neighbourhood, noticing all the out-of-state cars; the most remote origin was Ontario. This is a nice mild-climate place for people to gather for the holidays. We didn't go into the park, presuming it would be full of tots trying out their new trikes, tweens trying out their new motorised skateboards, and adults trying out their new drones. When we were there a few days ago, I noticed the older kids' section of the playground had had its climbing structure removed. There was a small construction machine sitting there. That's sad. I remember taking photos during shelter-in-place of kids illicitly clambering on it despite the yellow caution tape. (I took them so the kids' bodies were only barely visible, their faces not at all.)
