The chance last night paid off—0.05" of rain in Los Altos. And they're now forecasting rain tonight and tomorrow with certainty.
A major swell was forecast on the Pacific coast, and apparently it took away a chunk of the Santa Cruz wharf (resembles a British pier except for having parking and no slot machines), dunking 3 Parks Department staffers—a supervisor and 2 contractors—who were working on securing it after earlier damage. Everybody's been fished out and is ok, but I hope they don't decide to get rid of the wharf.
And this little rent house was demolished today.
